[…] A simple online application called Time Machiner lets you send emails with a new dimension: time. Thus, you can choose not only the subject and the email address of the receiver, but also the date when the email will be sent. There are no other options; the author himself admits that it took him 4 hours and 50 bucks to develop the application. […]
@God: He could easily make some (small amount though) money from it by selling ads when/if it gets popular. I can think of several people who would buy it off him if it got popular as well.
Sorry to burst your bubble Jon, but someone has a very, very similar site called “justincaseidie”. He sells it this way. You post-date your “Time Released” (not his words mine) email sometime after your preconcieved impending doom to delivery messages you wouldn’t write while you’re still alive. Example : Like telling your boss what you REALLY think of him etc.
I would say Jon, this premise seems quite close.
Sorry Jon it was a good try. Keep thinkin’
@William Blair there are a whole bunch of sites that are EXACTLY the same as this. But I think it is still a good achievement for the small amount of time/money that was spent. A decent investment that should make at least a small amount of profit if/when jon decides to sell it on.

I forgot my wallet yesterday when I left the house. So I sent myself an email with yesterdays date to remind myself. Unfortunately, I don’t check my email before I leave…so history repeated itself. Still forgot the wallet.
Nice work!
You need to ‘escape apostrophes’ if you know what I mean - just sent a first test message. I’m getting SQL errors…
Stef
Thanks for the bug report Stef, i’ll get on and fix that now.
Great… I’m going to write about it in my blog…
Why don’t you submit it to Digg?

Thanks for the feedback cenourinha.
As much as i would love to, i don’t think it’s digg-worthy.

You best add some server-side validation as well, I can submit a blank form if I have javascript disabled.

Nice site idea. How did you get the domain name servers to clear so quickly? It usually seems to take a couple of days or so…
